Airport Parking Heathrow

Holidays were approaching and plan was to travel abroad which was decided a year ago and I was excited to have my bags packed up for a next and interested voyage. I had planned to lock doors of my house as I was the lonely member of my small cottage in Westminster in west central zone of London.

I made a list of all necessary items to carry particularly my novels without which I can’t breathe and planned to use airport parking Heathrow for my car.

It was my planning since long that I should spend my winter which happens very cold and chilly in London to some destination where I can have respite from this chilly weather.

So I planned my vacation in winter accordingly. I was confused over the destinations which I was checking continuously over more than a month to decide the best option to spend vacations. All of the destinations like Singapore, Malaysia, Bangkok Thailand and Dubai UAE were appealing to me and I could not decide where to go until I talked to my colleague Bryan who happened to visit with his family to Dubai. He suggested me to visit Dubai once and showed his photographs in his laptop which he had taken while on visit to Dubai. The photos of Bryan were magical that it casted spell on my brain and I instantly decided to visit Dubai and spend my vacations there. And instantly I booked my tickets for the next week.

My flight was from Heathrow terminal3 in British airways at 9 in the evening. So I packed all my stuff in my car in the late afternoon and pulled out and headed towards the airport.

I own a GMC YUKON truck type car to which I had done some modifications like extended chassis and wheel base, additional front bumper installed with heavy metallic carrier at the top and bike carrier at the rear end of the car.

On arriving on the airport parking gates I confirmed for the meet and greet companies’ prices for parking over a period of 15 days. And to my surprise I was asked to pay £115 for a week. That seemed exorbitant price which is far high than any other airports in the world. The airport in berlin charges £62 for a week and there are many more airports in the world which charge less than £40 per week.

I made some more research and asked few more companies who were offering parking services and I finally found one who agreed to at £82 per week and that was fine for me as I was getting closer to the check-in timings of my flight. So the driver tried to pull out my car to put it in the right slot but it added more to my stress when it was found that my car is extra-large due to extended wheel base to fit i to the slot properly. To me nothing seems working, I requested the company person to help me out and find some solution. Then they tried for a few more minutes to fit in the deep corner place which was specifically built to fit extra-large cars in it. The company guy asked me to pay more bucks for the extra-large slot.

I paid and finally check in. But this experience at T3 Heathrow parking always remained in my mind.
